An introduction to the angels, loved ones and other beings who are on hand to help you on your life journey - and how they communicate with us.
What life questions will be discussed in this session?
Do I have a soulmate?

Do I receive communications or support from ‘the other side’?
Can I develop psychic abilities?
Why is this important? If we are open to believing that we have lived multiple lives and are a part of the wider collective of souls, it is not too much of a stretch to accept that we do have some help from unseen angels or guides as we embark on our life here on Earth. You will hear the spiritual teachers talk about different spiritual beings that form part of our spiritual support team. You may not have an interest in the complicated layers of entities that some spiritual gurus mention, but as part of this familiarisation you will get an overview of how the support structure works and is available if we choose to allow it.

Who are our spiritual support team?
I use the term ‘spiritual support team’ to cover all the souls, angels and entities that are there to offer comfort and guidance during our earthly lifetime.
Your soul family
This is the term given to the group of souls with whom you incarnate over and over again, for many lifetimes. You are part of a supportive and familiar team, a bit like classmates, who arrange to rendezvous on Earth and help each other with their earthly assignments. You are likely to incarnate in different roles, so you might be someone’s daughter in this lifetime and their husband or best friend in the next. You might connect only briefly in a passing role in another lifetime - it depends on how you can best help each other learn the lessons you have decided upon. This explains the feeling you have when you ‘click’ with someone you meet, or feel drawn to someone strongly. Some people you meet in a particular life you may meet again another even if they are not part of your soul family, but it’s reassuring to the soul to arrange to meet a friendly and familiar soul at a particular point in the life to come, or to trust a soul they know well to play an important part in their life.
It is said that we always choose the souls who will be our parents. Even if they provide us with a harrowing experience, it has been agreed upon beforehand to put us on a particular path or teach us something in particular.
Your departed friends and family
The souls of people we have spent time with on Earth and who have since died do not leave us, remaining on hand to comfort and protect us whenever we need them, if we are open to letting their presence in. It is extremely common for people to admit that they feel their departed loved one is still close by, sending them recognisable signs such as favourite songs, pennies, rainbows, feathers or suchlike left as poignant reminders; or even through smells or the strange behaviour of inanimate objects. The veil between our reality and the realm that they pass into is not impenetrable, allowing for communication between us.
Angels
Multiple spiritual teachers tell us that we have a guardian angel who is assigned to us for our lifetime. Your angel is a strong, warm supportive presence that you can learn to feel standing with you at all times, providing wisdom, encouragement, and occasionally protecting us from events that might terminate our life before we are ready. Sonia Chouquette, the internationally renowned intuitive guide, encourages us to make contact with our guardian angels during meditative practice, asking for their support and even asking them to give you their name for a more personal and loving experience. In her book Ask Your Guides she explains about all the other angels that we can call upon, including the more familiar archangels, and other entities from the spirit realm who can assist us in various ways.
Ascended Masters
These are beings who have spent many lifetimes on Earth as human, learning all the lessons they came to learn until they no longer need to incarnate. Instead they use their wisdom and experience to support our journey at specific times where they can give particular help and enrich our enjoyment of life. It is suggested that if you want inspiration in a particular task we can call upon an ascended master who had that skill in a former life, maybe even someone who was once famous in that skill, and they can help guide our success.
Intergalactic Beings
We live in a universe (or perhaps one of many) and it seems naive to suppose that we are the only inhabited planet. There are increasing numbers of spiritual teachers who act as channels for Beings that claim to be from other places in the universe. It is said that Earth is known to be a fairly new planet of a low, dense vibration where souls like us incarnate with considerable courage into what can often be a difficult experience, so that we may develop great wisdom. Our ‘Team of Light’ or spiritual support team is said to hold us in love, esteem and sincere admiration for our decision to grow our souls in wisdom by enduring this low-density experience, where we are isolated from Source. There are many other older worlds where the Beings have evolved over many thousands of years. Some are now beings of energy rather than having a physical form, and they now offer their services to help the souls on Earth ascend. We have apparently passed an enormously significant milestone in our development in the past decade and have reached a stage of maturity that can allow these beings increasingly to come forward as we are now travelling at speed towards enlightenment.
How our spiritual support team can communicate
It is important to know that our spiritual supporters never force their help into our lives. If you do not want to have anything to do with them, they will honour your decision and will remain in the background, always ready if you change your mind. If you do not believe or allow them in, you will not feel their guidance, but if you do want their influence you can develop your connection with them. Words are considered a clumsy form of communication; not always adequately conveying exact meaning, so their communication will often be in the form of hunches, feelings, or thoughts that seem more potent and powerful than usual.
Intuitive support. If you want support, you might try the following:
Pose a question during a meditation, waiting for the answer to come through the stillness of your thoughts.
Send up a plea to your guardian angel when you feel out of your depth or unsafe, then see how the situation resolves itself.
Ask your ascended masters for guidance and success before you start a task, for improved skill.
Inwardly converse with a departed loved one, asking for some love and reassurance, then allowing in feelings of calm and restored equilibrium or a sign that you ask for, to let you know they are with you.
State your openness to your team’s support at the start of each day for a happy and productive day, then responding to any nudges to do things that make you happy or that feel good.
The Clair senses and how we can develop our own psychic ability and intuition.
Our spiritual support team can also communicate with us through our intuition and psychic ability. Those with a psychic ability say that it is a common misconception that being psychic is a gift that you are born with. In fact, well-known psychics say that everyone has a certain amount of psychic ability, and you can develop it much as you would exercise a muscle. Here is a commonly used list of the categories of ability that are beyond our normal senses, known as the ‘clairs’.
Clairvoyance - clear seeing. Visualising images in your mind’s eye
Clairaudience - clear hearing. Hearing words, sounds or music in your mind’s ear
Clairsentience - clear feeling. Feeling a person or spirit’s emotions or physical sensations.
Claircognizance - clear knowing. Having a premonition or knowledge of people/events that we would not normally have knowledge about.
Clairalience - clear smelling. Smelling odours that do not have a physical origin.
Clairgustance - clear tasting. Tasting something that isn’t there.
It is possible to have more than one of these abilities, or the ability may come and go depending on the circumstance. You are likely to have a dominant clair and there are books and exercises that help you define and develop these skills of intuition. Have a go at trusting your gut feel when you get a feeling about a person or a circumstance that is outside of your normal sensory perception. It doesn’t matter if you end up being wrong, just be open to regularly paying attention to anything that comes into your consciousness and you will find that it becomes easier to tune into it over time. Try to enjoy experimenting with it, and be non-judgemental with yourself.
Spiritual methods that can aid decision making and allow your spiritual support team to communicate messages to you.
Astrology - to help us navigate the planetary influences, a bit like a planetary weather forecast.
Tarot readings - especially from intuitive readers that invite ascended masters to help them interpret the cards.
Dowsing - This is used in a less spiritual form by practitioners to locate items below ground such as water, radiation, or minerals/metals. It can also be employed to answer life’s questions using a heavy object or crystal suspended from a chain to use as a pendulum to answer yes/no questions, as it swings certain ways that you decide upon, e.g. left-right for yes, and a circular motion for no.
Spirit numbers / Angel numbers - throughout the ages numbers have been attributed with special significance, so if a certain number or number pattern is brought to your attention there may be a message for you from your guides.
Spirit animals - much like spirit numbers, animals are said to be used to get messages through to us. Some people talk about a particular spirit animal assigned to people at birth, but animals can persistently appear or behave unusually to draw attention to a message that we need to hear too.
